Hello and welcome! I’m Brittney Smith—the wife and mother behind Bible, Boots, and Aprons.
For seven years, I navigated the fast-paced world of nursing, from the bedside to the office of Assistant Director of Nursing. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the connection between faith, health, and quality of life. But when I transitioned to being a stay-at-home mom on the farm, I hit a new kind of wall.
For too long, I felt the “Friday Afternoon Friction”—the rush to get the house ready for Sabbath, the scramble to prep for Adventurer Club, and the mental load of cooking from scratch while toddlers underfoot demanded attention. I looked for a resource that spoke to the modern SDA woman—someone who loves the farm and values our unique heritage, but needs a practical system to make it all work.
I couldn’t find that space. So, I built it.
The Vision: Bible, Boots, & Aprons
The name—chosen with my husband, Carson’s help—reflects the three pillars of a joyful, intentional life:
- Bible (Christian Living): This is our firm foundation. Here, you’ll find tactical Sabbath preparation, devotionals for the “busy” heart, and resource-heavy guides for SDA Ministry (like Adventurers and Sabbath School).
- Boots (Farm & Garden): This represents the grit of stewardship. I share how we run our homestead and support a small business, featuring DIY skills for the mom who wants to pick up a drill and get things done.
- Aprons (Homemaking & Health): This is where my RN background meets the kitchen. I provide “Blue Zone” inspired nutrition and my “Hybrid Kitchen” strategy—showing you how to cook for both clean-meat and plant-based family members without losing your mind.
I’m not a “perfect” blogger. I’m a mom just like you with mud on my boots and flour on my apron. My goal is to move us from grumpy and overwhelmed to joyful and prepared. Let’s reclaim our time, our health, and our ministry—one step at a time
